A sure sign of summer...

Well, Rosie was out of town for the night for her sister's bridal shower - so I just couldn't bring myself to sit at home alone! I found this carnival happening (well, not really HAPPENING) but GLOWING in the mall parking lot. I love the color combinations between warm and cool. It reminds me of a 1st semester photography assignment. Funny how it still works as a good photograph years after graduation. I guess they knew what they were talking about! Anyhow, this must be a sure sign that summer is on it's way - the carnival is in town!

Cloudy Day, Good Light

Here's the latest headshot! With all of the beautiful weather we've been having, we were bound to get some overcast days once in a while. Last night was one of those nights, but on a tight schedule, we were able to find some great light yesterday amongst all of the clouds. If you are thinking of moving to the city for acting - ask us about having your headshots done BEFORE you move. We are able to charge HALF of what we charged in NYC for the same exact service. We work hard to make your headshot look like it could have been taken anywhere in the city, and can even help make the first 200 prints for you!

Washington Inn Wedding

James and Megan were married this weekend at Bethesda Episcopal Church right here in downtown Saratoga Springs. I love this church. It's beautiful inside and out, and it happens to be directly across the street from us. We just managed to dodge the rain, and were able to get some great photos in Congress Park before the reception at The Washington Inn. I love photographing there as well - there are so many windows, and with the large front porch and porch swing, there are many opportunities for natural light photography. Thanks to Ginny and the staff at The Washington Inn for a wonderful event & congratulations to James & Megan!!

Erika's new headshot!

Well, we had a break in the rain last week, and photographed Erika's new headshot on Thursday evening here in downtown Saratoga. We had a great time, and as Erika put it, "I think it shows." We were able to capture some beautiful photos near dusk, and of course it helped that she had blue eyes like none I've ever seen. We wish Erika all the best as she joins Actors' Equity and continues her career as a young actor - BREAK A LEG!

Amy & James

Congratulations Amy & James! This was a perfectly intimate wedding last weekend, again at Longfellow's. I have to hand it to the staff there - no matter if the wedding is 150 guests or 30 guests, they always give their clients the same level of attention. Amy & James' wedding was no different. We had a session of formal ( and not-so-formal photos) on the bridge in their main ballroom, followed by a great sit-down dinner in a beautifully decorated room at the Inn. Well done, and best wishes to Amy & James!

Tara & Evan

Congratulations to Tara & Evan! Tara and Evan were married last week on a rainy Saturday in April. The rain didn't bring us down at all - in fact, it made the whole day seem that much more romantic. With a candle-lit reception at Longfellow's and a beautiful (STANDING ROOM ONLY!) ceremony at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Malta - their day turned out to be just perfect. Enjoy your newly married life! (As I always tell newly engaged couples... "I highly recommend it.")

Congratulations Jessica & Ryan!

Jessica and Ryan were married on a BEAUTIFUL (and uncharacteristically WARM) March evening in Albany. Following the ceremony at St. Margaret Mary's, we all trekked down to Albany's Washington Park for photos with the bridal party. With the hazy sunlight filtering through the trees, we captured some great shots of everyone on the bridge over the lake. The reception took place at the Mohawk River Country Club in Rexford, NY. If you are still looking for a reception venue near Schenectady - give them a chance. They always do a nice job there; the setup is perfect for the cocktail hour, formal photos on the golf course or in the gazebo nearby, and plenty of natural light through the large windows (spoken like a true photographer!)

Spring is HERE!

Well, the beautiful weather today brought our favorite neighbor, the pileated woodpecker, back to our backyard! He (the males have an extra red stripe near the beak and a red forehead) had a great afternoon tearing apart the old trees and looking for a meal. We've seen him in the neighborhood for weeks, right here in downtown Saratoga!
